NRA Releases Anti-Obama Ad Campaign

In what was only a matter of time, the NRA has released a series of anti-Obama ads over the issue of gun rights. Ever since Obama delivered this sound bite:
So it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
a response from the NRA was inevitable. Here is one of the four ads:

Three comments:
  1. The ad features a blonde-haired, blue-eyed white man talking about how much he charishes his own upbringing and opposes Obama. The media / left will undoubtedly denouce this as racist. Will that opinon matter to the target audience? I doubt it.
  2. The best line of the ad is "I'm not bitter. I'm blessed." I wasn't quite sure how they were going to turn the bitter quote around but it was done masterfully. Just from reading reactions, you can tell that short quote resonates.
  3. They really need better checking at the NRA. Twice, a house is pictured with an American flag hanging vertically. In both cases, the flag is hanging backwards. Seriously? No one from the NRA involved in the production of this video knows the rules for displaying the U.S. flag? (See rule #8.) Embarrassing.
All four of the news ads can been seen at www.gunbanobama.com, a website that is as unbiased and nonpartisan as the national media.
